Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department

May 15th



At 04:19; Hedgesville and Beker Heights were alerted for a structure fire on Babbling Brook Lane. Ambulance 692 was the first unit to arrive and advise they had a working fire. Short after responding Engine 62 called for Martinsburg Fire Department after see the glow of the fire from Route 9 East. Upon the first units arriving Chief Nichols of Hedgesville established command and started calling for additional tankers. The fire load had grow to the point that he felt a defensive attack on the fire was the only way. In the early minutes of the fire reported persons may still be in the residence. The possibility of over 150 partiers were there a few hours prior to the call according to neighbors. Search dogs were brought in and discovered nothing. Units were on scene for almost eleven hours.






April 12th

At 16:08; we, along with companies 20 and 90, were alerted for an explosion from a bomb at the Apple Harvest McDonald's. Upon the First units' arriving the fire had been extinguished by the manger. Units remained on scene at the request of Sheriff's Office to secure the crime scene till their arrival. A male was caught and charged for throwing the explosiv device at the building. Resque Engine 64 was the last unit to clear at 16:48.




April 9th



At 21:21 Rescue Engine 64, Rescue 692, and Utility 61 responded with units from Medic 98 and Company 40 for a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of
Shepherdstown Road and Gosling Marsh Road. Upon arrival Assist Chief 60 Assumed command. All the occupants the one vehicle were standing along the road with 
appearent minor injuries. Crew members noticed a cow lying on the side of the road, deceased. Law enforcement advised another vehicle was located near the county line. A
 

 

 

crew spoke with them as well. They had no reportable injuries. Crews remained on scene till 22:00 when the roadway was cleared.

April 4th




At 19:00 Companies 30, 40, and 90 were alerted for multiple fires along the railroad around the 1300 block of Allensville Road. We were alerted to assist at 19:27 While en-route to the scene with Brush 65 and Utility 6-1 hauling the ATV, command advised the fire had grown to several acres of involvement. After arriving Brush 65 was sent to the Beards Crossing to assist getting in front of the fire and the ATV was sent down the railroad to assist with hot spot to make sure the fire didn't jump the tracks. Command had Berkeley's 911 Center alert for all county companies to respond with all available manpower and brush units around 19:50.  Members from 5 companies remained on scene till 00:20 doing containment and mop up.

February 15th


At 20:23 Berkeley and Jefferson County's 911 Centers received calls for a report barn fire. Units from mutiple departments began responding at 20:23. Rescue Engine 3 and Truck 3 arrived on scene around 20:31 and Engine 62 arrived at 20:33. Engine 62 became the command post with Chief 60 as the O.I.C. Orignally one owner was unaccounted for but was later located safe and out of the structure. It took members from Berkeley County company's 60 and 40, Jefferson County company's 3, 2, and 1, Washington County company 1 around 1 hour to bring the fire under control. Units remained on scene till 23:14. No injuries to fire and ems personnal or property owners reported.

At 10:00 we where dispatch assit Medic 97 for a Landing Zone on Rt 9 East in front of the Regional Jail. Assistant Chief 60 was ground contact for the medivac

As of January 25th, all members need to get with President 60 or Lieutenant 6-3 to get the new key for the station. Locks have been changed.

Company 60 was alerted for a traffic accident with possible entrapment on Airport Road just south of the Paynes Ford Road intersection at 22:42. Captain 6-3 arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment with the vehicle on it's top. Air National Guard was alerted for their squad. Shortly after their arrival the patient was removed from the car and found to be pulse-less. Medical Examiner was alerted to the scene. 60's personnel and the 167th's personnel remained on scene till the WV State Police were finished with their investigation and the vehicle was removed. All units cleared at 00:36.

All taxes and gun fees are paid for by the Baker Heights VFD. YOU NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN. Valley Guns II will hold all guns until BATF paperwork is complete. MULTIPLE CHANCES TO WIN PER TICKET.
